Returned yesterday from the P-47 Pilots reunion in San Diego. I was there as a guest of a true gentleman - Paul Carll (57th FG, 64th FS), who unfortunately was unable to attend himself. This was the 3rd reunion I have attneded, and it was great to be once again surrounded by all of you Jug Jockeys and your families. Renewed many acquaintances, and made many new ones. It was just a very enjoyable and relaxing 3 1/2 days. Looking forward to seeing all of you in Omaha next year !

I do research on crashed airplane during WWII in the Westerwald area, located 60 mls north of Frankfurt/Main.
In one case I try to locate 2nd Lt Herbert Carr Jr of 36FG, 53FS. He crashed october 7th 1944 and was a POW.
I also try to get a clear view on seven P-47 crashes is March 1945 in my home county. Any help would be great.

I fly a sim and favor the P-47 over any other plane because of it's energy, high speed handling and armament.

I was adopted in 1942 and last year learned of my father Capt. Lee Willis of the 9th Air Force 10th FG, 50th FS, one of your fellow P47 Association Members. His plane was named (AKSARBEN) Nebraska spelled backwards and his group called him Pappy. His brother, Gerald (Dale) Rose, whom some of you know from reviewing video of your San Antonio Reunion, has provided me with information regarding fathers service years and I have meet a half brother in Denver who also has provided additional information. I would like to hear from any of you who may have known my father. I can be reached at Larry D. Kness, 3841 East 12st Avenue, Thornton, Colorado 80241, or Email rmevambulanc@rmi.net or phone 303-254-9854.
I had planed on coming to this years Reunion but am unable. Please let everyone know of my inquires and God Bless you all.

My father, Fred Christensen, has asked me to send out a request. Does anyone know where I can get a small lapel pin of a P-47 razorback? He lost everything he owned in a fire and we are trying to replace all the things that were dear to him. Thanks for your help.
