I just got a letter from the National World War II Memorial Commission asking for help in getting the construction of the Memorial back in gear. It has been stopped over technicalities associated with the former chairman of the National Capital Planning Commission continuing to serve after the expiration of his term. This technicality has allowed a group to file a lawsuit to prevent construction claiming that the Memorial will impede the National Mall in Washington, DC. Write to the current Chairman, Richard L. Friedman, of the National Capital Planning Commission, 401 9th Street, NW, North Lobby, Suite 500, Washington, DC 20576 or e-mail at info@ncpc.com before June 13th and urge them to ratify previous approvals and get construction back underway. The Veterans deserve this one. Lets Help! - Stephen C. Kirkup, Proud son of Lt. Col. Joseph K. Kirkup Deputy Commanding Officer 36th Fighter Group

Tripod deleted the site and I purchased space to make the site even better. No more stupid ads! Thank you for all your support of the site. Kenneth Kik

Returned yesterday from the P-47 Pilots reunion in San Diego. I was there as a guest of a true gentleman - Paul Carll (57th FG, 64th FS), who unfortunately was unable to attend himself. This was the 3rd reunion I have attneded, and it was great to be once again surrounded by all of you Jug Jockeys and your families. Renewed many acquaintances, and made many new ones. It was just a very enjoyable and relaxing 3 1/2 days. Looking forward to seeing all of you in Omaha next year !
